October to March is the ideal time to visit Jim Corbett National Park, temperature may vary between 16-26 degrees celsius. The days remain pleasant, however, the nights may get a bit colder because of the dense forest around. We recommend to carry a shawl / light woollens.

Bareilly (SRMS):

HIGHLIGHTS:
Dr. Levy is a founding member (2002) and a member of the Executive Committee of the Surviving Sepsis Campaign, a global initiative to improve the care of patients with severe sepsis.

Dr. Levy is Past-President of the Society of Critical Care Medicine (2009).

He has authored over 130 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He is the co-director of the Ocean State Clinical Coordinating Center, which manages large, international, multi-center clinical trials in sepsis.

Dr. Levy is very active in the field of quality and safety. He continues to serve as the representative to the National Quality Forum for SCCM and also serves on the advisory committees on Quality for the Blue Distinction program of Blue Cross Blue Shield of America.

He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Medical Director for NZ Air Ambulance Services.

Professor Freebairn is the Associate Dean, ( Hawke's Bay Campus ) University of Otago Medical School and a member of the BASIC steering group and, is involved in courses running in NZ, Australia. Africa, Asia, the Middle East, the Pacific and Europe.

Dr. John Marshall

John Marshall is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Toronto, a critical care physician at St. Michael's Hospital, and a Senior Investigator in the Keenan Research Centre for Biomedical Science. He holds the Unity Health Chair in Trauma Research. He is current co-Chair of a WHO Working Group on the Clinical Characterization and Management of COVID-19.

He is the Canadian principle investigator for REMAP-CAP, a global platform trial of treatments for COVID-19.

He has published more than 500 manuscripts and book chapters, and has been cited more than 117,000 times. He is the founding chair of the International Forum of Acute Care Trialists (InFACT) - a global network of 37 investigator-led critical care clinical research groups.

He is past-chair of the International Sepsis Forum, past-President of the Surgical Infection Society, past Secretary-General of the World Federation of Societies of Intensive and Critical Care Medicine, and past-chair of the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group.

He is Professor of Critical Care and Head of the Division of Critical Care at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in Belize City, Belize and Secretary-General, World Federation Of Intensive And Critical Care.

He is Founder and Associate Editor of the Belize Journal of Medicine. In ompliance with the Conflict of Interest Policy adopted in 2019.

Dr. Hidalgo was invited to establish critical care medicine in the State of Belize and has subsequently used his expertise and regional influence to found several societies including the Belize Society of Critical Care, the Belize Society of Internal Medicine and COCECATI (Central America and the Caribbean Consortium of Intensive Care).

Dr. Hidalgo was awarded with the highest recognition the American College of Physician offers to his members in 2012: "Master of the American College of Physician". In 2016, he also was awarded with the Master of the American College of Critical Care, been the first Latin American Intensivist to got this prestigious recognition.

Dr. Hidalgo is a well-known and respected speaker locally and internationally and a regular contributor to chapters and books on critical care medicine.

Dr. Daniel De Backer

Prof. Daniel De Backer is Professor of Intensive Care at the Universitè Libre de Bruxelles and is Head of Intensive Care Departments of CHIREC hospitals (Brussels and Braine l'Alleud-Waterloo).

He became fully specialized in internal medicine in 1991 and in intensive care medicine in 1992 (both at Universitè Libre de Bruxelles). In 1996, Dr. De Backer obtained the title of "Agrègè de l'Enseignement Supèrieur" (PhD) at the Universitè Libre de Bruxelles.

Prof. De Backer is course director of several courses on echocardiography in Brussels, Sao Paulo and at the American Thoracic Society annual meeting.

Prof. De Backer has signed more than 200 original articles (most in the English language), 30 editorials, more than 30 book chapters and review articles, and 250 original abstracts.

He presented more than 700 invited lectures and often served as moderator at various international meetings.

Dr. Michael O'Leary

Dr Michael O’Leary is a Senior Specialist in Intensive Care at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, Australia. He is also currently State Medical Director of the NSW Organ and Tissue Donation Service. Dr O'Leary was previously President of the Australia and New Zealand Intensive Care Society (ANZICS), a member of the ESICM Council and a Council Member of APACCM.

Dr O’Leary's current research interests are principally in the field of organ donation, ethics and end-of-life care; in the past he has published extensively on nutrition support and protein metabolism in sepsis and critical illness.

Dr. Maher Al Bahrani

Dr. Al Bahrani is an Assistant Director General of Royal Hospital in Muscat, Oman and a Senior Consultant Cardiac Anesthesiologist and Intensivist in the department of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine. He was the Director of Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine, Royal Hospital from 2004 until 2015 and he is the founder and past president of Oman Society of Anesthesia and Critical Care. In 2004 he established the Anesthesia residency program in Oman and chaired the first Anesthesia Education Committee in Oman Medical Specialty Board from 2007 until 2016. He chairs the committee for improving the anesthesia and intensive care services in Oman since 2005. In recognizing the role of respiratory therapy, Dr. Al Bahrani established the Respiratory Care service in all hospitals in Oman.

Dr. Al Bahrani is a dual diplomate of American Board of Anesthesiology and American Board of Anesthesiology-Critical Care Medicine from Duke University, USA. He has published several articles and book chapters related to anesthesia and critical care. His interest lies in sepsis management, cardiac critical care and quality assurance in anesthesia and critical care.

Dr. Prashant Nasa

Dr Prashant Nasa has been working as a Head of the Department (Critical Care Medicine) at NMC Specialty Hospital, Dubai, UAE, since 2014. He is also a Chair of the Infection Prevention and Control Department of the Hospital and a member of the Central Scientific Committee of the hospital.

He has a great interest in clinical research with more than 55 PubMed indexed Journals and has written more than 30 chapters in various books. He is a peer-reviewer with various journals in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine.

He is also an Associate Editor of the “Critical Care Communications”, the bimonthly official newsletter of the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Faryal Ali Khamis

Dr Faryal Khamis is a Senior Consultant and Head of the Infectious Diseases Unit and deputy of Directorate of Internal Medicine at the Royal Hospital in Muscat, Oman, where she Chairs both the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee and the Infection Prevention and Control Committee. She is a member of a number of National Committees and task forces in the Ministry of Health, Oman.

She completed her medical school training with honors at the Sultan Qaboos University in Oman in 1993. Following her completion of a residency program in Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA in 1999, she completed two fellowships programs both in Infectious Diseases and in Medical Microbiology at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina.

She has also authored several publications in scientific journals. Her main research interests include respiratory viral infections, infections in immunocompromised patients, including those with HIV, antimicrobial Stewardship and SARS-CoV-2.

Professor Roopen Arya is Professor of Thrombosis and Haemostasis at King’s College Hospital in London. He is Clinical Director for Haematological Medicine at King’s and Director of King’s Thrombosis Centre. He trained at Oxford University and at King’s College London.

His main interests are venous thromboembolism prevention and management, anticoagulation and the interface between haemostasis and critical care medicine.

Dr. Lilanthi Subasinghe (MBBS, MD, MRCP, EDIC) is a consultant Intensivist currently working at University Hospital – General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Colombo, Sri Lanka. She graduated from faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo in 2010 and completed her postgraduate degree, MD in general medicine in 2016 before taking up critical care as subspecialty. She is currently the general secretary to the Ceylon College of Critical Care Specialists and a member of the council of Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA) 2022-2023.

Dr. Subasinghe’s current research interests are principally in the field of neurocritical care, organ donation, critical care ethics and end-of-life care.
